Hitchin is a historic market town in the county of North Hertfordshire.
Pleasantly situated in a fertile valley with the river Hiz flowing through its centre. The principal object of interest within the town is St Mary’s Church, wonderfully floodlit at night and a centre piece forming the town’s character.
It has a charming and vibrant modern cafe culture with the wonderful aroma of freshly ground coffee ever present, a good selection of specialist shops and boutiques. There are great restaurants, wine bars, cafes, pubs and dance venues and even a theatre – Hitchin is a vibrant engaging town with lots to offer. Hitchin is also home to the annual Rhythms of the World music festival (every Summer).
The river Hiz flowing past St Mary’s church – a pleasant place to sit quietly, relax and contemplate.
Shops, coffee bars and eateries radiating off the town square.
